Hiring: Assistant Health Psychologist

We're hiring for a part-time, flexible hours, Assistant Health Psychologist to work predominantly on the Body Mind Connect membership and support other health-psychology related tasks in the practice.

The Person:
 

  • This role is suitable for an experienced psychological wellbeing practitioner, a trainee health psychologist, or CBT therapist wanting to work more in the context of health and chronic illness.
     

  • You must be technically proficient, able to quickly learn back-end software systems for online intervention programmes and navigate emails, apps and other software as required (e.g. Learnworlds, Slack, Typeform, GetResponse).
     

  • Clinical experience and able to support with behavioural and cognitive behavioural interventions, particularly in the context of health conditions.
     

  • You must be highly organised and able to work independently with great communication and personal skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • You will be responsible for maintaining and updating the online health psychology membership platform, bodymindconnect.club, which will involve adding and updating materials, creating e-books, uploading videos and recordings, responding to member queries, monitoring usage (training provided).
     

  • You will be required to take an active role in supporting and encouraging community participation and peer engagement for Body Mind Connect. 
     

  • You will be responsible for leading 30-minute 1-1 onboarding appointments with members to help them set goals, create a structured plan for working towards their goals, supporting with navigating the Body Mind Connect programme to get the most out of it, and referring issues for supervision when necessary.
     

  • You will be responsible for responding to incoming queries from Body Mind Connect members on Slack at least every other day (ideally checking-in every day)
     

  • You will be responsible for handling administrative duties and complaints sensitively.
     

  • You will run 1-hour ‘Connect & Reflect’ workshops weekly for the Body Mind Connect programme online, ideally on Tuesday evenings or another week day evening.
     

  • You will have a role in expanding membership of the platform and doing outreach work to link the platform into different services and creating materials to help promote it.
     

  • Other health psychology related tasks may be required as of when needed such as developing and/or contributing to resources, or research-related tasks. Guidance and direction will be provided accordingly.
     

  • Attend regular meetings to update on progress of tasks and provide weekly updates


Training

You will receive training from the colleague currently in the position, and therefore you must be available in August to attend the training. Training days and times will be agreed with the colleague in advance.

Working arrangements

  • Remote, London based ideally but for the right candidate willing to consider those based outside of London.

  • Reporting to Dr Sula Windgassen and Dr Amina Saadi

  • 2-3 hours a week which can be worked flexibly across the week, but you are required to check for incoming enquiries and respond to them every other day minimum. There may be more less / more hours depending on demand and need. 

  • The hourly rate starts at £16.58 in line with a mid-band 5 NHS hourly wage inclusive of London weighting. 

  • Payment will be made to you upon receipt of monthly invoices with itemised hours, sent to Dr Sula Windgassen / Mind Body Blossom. It is your responsibility to ensure that invoices are completed and sent by the 27th of each month. Payment is made monthly within 3 working days of submission of your invoice.

  • The role is initially for 1 year, with opportunity for it to be extended
